Today was my first day back at work after a few days off. While I really enjoyed my time off, today was kind of hard. I had a stack of papers to deal with. Included in that stack were some new applications for Habitat's home ownership program. That was exciting to see. I also had what seemed like a million emails to deal with and some phone calls to return. Needless to say, it was a little crazy today. On top of just the normal Monday stuff, the office seemed just a bit more chaotic that usual.
We are getting ready to send out a bunch of flyers to local schools in Clermont County, Ohio. This is a part of our family recruitment efforts. We hope that more and more families who dream of owning their own homes will take the next step and apply.
I am also very excited that we have another series of Partner Family classes beginning this week. We will be having our home ownership classes that will teach families about what it means to be a home owner and how this is different than being a renter. They will learn about home owner's insurance, being good neighbors, and how to be prepared for unexpected repairs. I am really looking forward to spending more time with our Partner Families getting to know them.
I continue to be grateful for the work and ministry to which God has called me with TriState Habitat for Humanity. Thanks for being a part of my journey!
