Thank you very much for your prayers for the meeting we had tonight for those interested in applying for TriState Habitat for Humanity's home ownership program. We did not have a huge turnout but were able to give out some applications and answer a few questions. I hope that those folks who did take applications will take the next step to fill them out and then return them to the Habitat office. This seems like the biggest hurdle for people. We get hundreds of requests and only get a few applications returned. One of the things that I continue to realize about family recruitment is that it is an ongoing thing. There is no magic bullet that seems to reach everyone who might have need. It's hard to get some folks who do qualify to take the next step to apply. It's also difficult to get some applicants to complete their application in a timely fashion so that we can make a decision about their application. It is a constant challenge and a constant process of casting out nets in order to reach more people. I hope and pray that we were able to reach at least a few people tonight with the promise of a safe, decent, and affordable home.
Thank you again for your prayers and for being a part of my journey!
