Prayer Request

I have a prayer request for my work with TriState Habitat for Humanity. I have shared with you in the past that Habitat owns property in the city of Hamilton, Ohio that has grant funds connected to it. I have been trying really hard to get families recruited who want to live in this neighborhood in Hamilton as well as several other parts of Butler County, Ohio.
This week we did another big push for family recruitment in Butler County, Ohio. We did a mailing about 1,600 postcards to renters in the neighborhood in Hamilton where we have property. In addition to this we mailed a family recruitment postcard to about 2,900 low income apartment residents. Also, beginning next week we have a family recruitment insert with utility bills in Hamilton. This will reach out to about 30,000 families.
Beyond our efforts in Butler County, Ohio, we also mailed postcards to families throughout our eight county service area who have applied to our program in the past but did not meet our program qualifications. We have already started to get calls in the office from this mailing. These families, whose circumstances may have changed, are now ready to take the risk to apply again. This is really exciting.
While we are doing a big push in Butler County, Ohio, I also have plans to expand our outreach to families living in the other seven counties in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana in our service area. I am looking forward to finding new ways to reach families who dream of owning their own homes who are living in some horrible conditions.
So, we really need your prayers. I know the families are out there. I know that there are people don't even know about Habitat or think that they might qualify. Hopefully our mailings and other efforts will reach out to them where they are living and struggling and dreaming for a safe, decent, affordable home.
