Discovery Girls Magazine perfect for those preteens in your house plus a Giveaway ends 8-5

Do you have a preteen girl in your house? Gosh I have 5 girls and 2 are preteens and 1 will officially be a teen in October. I am so not ready for that haha. I find it hard for birthdays and Christmas on what to buy them these days. I had a hard time even just for everyday type gifts. Then I heard about Discovery Girls Magazine a magazine that is specialized for those preteens best part no fancy fake models on the magazine just real life girls for different states that they choose. I thought this would be a awesome thing to review.

Product Info:
Discovery Girls is a national magazine aimed at girls between the ages of 8 and 13. Our mission is to inspire and encourage girls to be more confident and resilient and help them deal with those difficult situations that all girls run into growing up. We give them advice and wholesome content addressing everything from peer pressure to fashion, friendship to future careers. Most importantly, much of our content comes form the girls themselves. Their embarrassing moments, their answered questions and statistics gathered from their responses to our questions, polls and surveys are all featured in every issue. All this content helps connect them to each other and realize they're all going through the same thing in their own unique way. We also feature real girls on the cover and in every issue. We choose 12 girls from a specific state to be our "Discovery Girls" and we then travel to that state to hold a two-day photo shoot! These girls inspire our readers, and we never put celebrities on our covers!
Our Opinion:
We received June/July's magazine , the Friendship Hardship book and the 2011 Survival Guide collector's edition magazine. My 2 oldest were so excited to read the magazines and book. My oldest is really into magazines but I really hate her looking at those fake girls on the magazines because my girls are at that impressionable stage where they think they have to look like everyone else or the famous people to fit in or be popular and I hate that. Its nice to see that their is some magazines out there that are all trash talking and fake. With Discovery Girls its all real and help topics about makeup and advice for bullying and being the new kid and so on. Just nice helpful and fun topics and articles. My girls love the quizzes and embarrassing moment articles too. I think they love that they are something they can relate too and that means alot to them and helping them feel normal too. We really have enjoyed the magazine and now I am sure I want to get a subscription to it for my girls!
The Friendship hardship book was perfect for my 12 year old. She has been dealing with some friendship issues this year and I try to explain to her she will find good friends if she looks in the right place. This book helped her see the difference between good friends, user friends, bad influence friends and so on. It also helped her learn how to deal with her friends and their peer pressure. This is a great book and I definitely will share it with anyone that has girls who deal with crazy friends.

So if you have preteens or teens you should definitely check  out Discovery Girls. They are sold at most book stores and Walmart, Kmart , and target and etc. They run around $4.95 for a issue or for a better deal a yearly subscription for $19.95 on the Discovery Girls website. So check it out!

We are giving one lucky reader a
1 certificate for a one year subscription to the magazine (6-issues)
1 four-book set of our Fab Girls Guides
1 copy of our special Collector's Edition set to hit newsstands June 28th (a super-sized issue that celebrates our 10 years)
