24

I've been watching the last season of 24 today through my Netflix subscription. I've been putting it off because I didn't want to think that this would be the end of Jack Bauer. Of course, they are now doing a 24 movie. I don't think it will be in real time because that would be a very long movie.
As I'm watching this final season, I realize that I am really going to miss watching this show. I watched most of it on DVD or streaming through Netflix. It is a one of the few shows that has me sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what it going to happen next. You never know who they are going to kill off. While they wouldn't dare kill Jack off, they are not timid about killing off all kinds of other characters. I must admit that there were times when I hoped that they were going to kill off some characters. They really know how to create villains who I have loved to hate. There were also several people who simply irritated me and I hoped they would either get killed off or be written off the show in some other way. I had a very hard time warming up to Chloe and secretly hoped for her demise. However, she has kind of grown on me. I do not have the same affection for Kim Bauer. She has gotten her father into so many messes that I thought any of the Presidents on the show could have declared her a threat to national security and had her hauled off to Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba.
With each episode I watch, I realize that I am that much closer to the end. It makes me a little sad. There are very few shows that capture my attention like 24. It's been a good run and I am grateful for my time with Jack. He is the kind of self-sacrificing American I could only hope to be.
Thanks for being a part of my journey!
