A Better Day

Today was better than yesterday. While not everything went smoothly, I felt better about the ways in which I responded to the challenges of the day compared with yesterday. I know, though, that I am still a work in progress. Thankfully, God is not done with me yet.
I have a prayer request. I am stepping out in faith and trying something new to find more families who may want to partner with Habitat. We are purchasing some mailing lists. We are targeting affordable housing apartment communities in our service area through direct mail. The communities require that renters meet specific income requirements. Many of the families who qualify for these affordable housing communities may also meet the income requirements for Habitat.We have never tried this before. I don't know if it will work. I am hoping it will. I know of other Habitat affiliates who have tried this with great success.
The reality is that we are in need of more families with whom to partner. While we have a record number of approved Partner Families, we need to continue to reach out to additional families with whom we might partner. We have had a bit of a lull in new applications in the past two weeks. We especially need to find families in Hamilton, Ohio; Middletown, Ohio, Franklin, Ohio, and New Richmond, Ohio.
So, I would appreciate your prayers about all of this. I know the families are out there. I know there are families living in poverty who are in need of safe, decent, affordable housing. I hope we can find ways in which to reach out to them.
