On Friday morning, Fletcher Smith, agent for NFL QB Donovan McNabb, fired back at Bernard Hopkins over the racial attack that Hopkins blasted McNabb with earlier this week. Hopkins referred to Donovan as not being black and labeling him a "house negro". According to NBC Sports, Fletcher Smith had the following response to Bernard Hopkins:
“Ill-informed statements such as the perplexing one Mr. Hopkins muttered recently are dangerous and irresponsible”

Fletcher would go on to list some of the major contributions that McNabb makes to various communities such as his advocacy against Diabetes. Smith also stated that Donovan will continue to pride himself in being a leader and remain committed to serving others.
Over the last few days, Hopkins has received a great deal of backlash from fans and critics. Many ESPN analysts have blasted Bernard for his ill-advised racial attack on McNabb. ESPN analysts like Michael Smith question what Hopkins' definition of "black" is.

Fight Sports Examiner's mailbox has been filled with fans who are outraged over Hopkins' unprovoked attack on McNabb and using racially charged insults that have had a history of dividing African Americans in this country.
McNabb's agent closed his written statement by wishing Hopkins luck in his fight with Pascal on May 21st. Hopkins and Pascal are in a rematch from last year's stunning performance from Bernard who, as a huge underdog, forced a draw.
