Blessings of Church and Friendship

Today was a day of true blessings for me. I attended a church in Cincinnati again that I've visited about four times before. I keep trying to discern if this is where I want to call my church home. Each time I go I experience new blessings. Today, I felt like the pastor was speaking directly to me. I feel as if God is nudging me in this direction. It's not a church that I would have thought that I would like. However, I really enjoy it, am challenged by the sermons, and inspired by the worship.
I also met for the first time in nearly 20 years with my friend Karen. Karen and I grew up in the same church in Mishawaka. We also went to junior high, high school, and college together. I performed the wedding service for Karen and her husband Scott. Now, we live about six miles from one another and have reconnected.
I must admit I was a little anxious about getting together with Karen. I wasn't sure if we would have much to talk about. I didn't know if we would have both changed so much that we would have anything in common. I also worried about all of the vain things about looking old and fat. Well, none of this seemed to be an issue. It was like we continued where we had left off. We shared what had happened with one another for the past several years and shared how God has been moving and working in both of our lives. We laughed. We cried. We listened to one another. We shared our stories. It was a holy time and a wonderful blessing in my day. I showed up at Karen's home at 1:00 PM and left at 6:30 PM. The time flew by and it was so good to share this time with my friend.
I look forward to being able to get together more in the future. This is such a wonderful blessing and answer to prayer in my life. God is so good to me. God's grace overwhelms me.
I hope you have a good beginning to your week. Thanks for being a part of my journey!
