Inception

I treated myself to a movie this afternoon at the theater. I saw the new movie Inception starring Leonardo DiCaprio. It was wonderful! It is one of the most amazing films I have seen in a long time. The film runs nearly two-and-one-half hours but the time flew by. It is visually stunning. It's an action movie, a thriller, and wonderful science fiction. It delves into concepts of consciousness, dreams, and deep recesses of the human mind.
I'm not sure if any of what is claimed in the movie is true about the sub-conscious and dreams. I don't really care. I bought the premise and the rules of entering other people's dreams hook, line, and sinker. I just got wrapped up in the movie. The ending both left me hanging and brought closure to the story at the same time. It takes a wonderful movie to do that.
Christopher Nolan, the director and writer, reportedly took eight years to write the script. It was well worth the wait. This is a visually stunning film that keeps you guessing until the end and then you are in some ways still guessing when it's over. Nolan's vision is brilliant. His skill as a director and creator is amazing.
Leonardo DiCaprio is great in this role. He continues to grow as an actor and played this part with depth and power. He has a kind of energy that is contagious. I want to go with him wherever he goes. Even if it feels like it's going to be dangerous. I somehow trust him to get me there safely.
I think I'm going to be thinking about Inception for a while. I think there are layers that I didn't get. It will definitely be in my Netflix cue when it comes out on DVD. It made going to the movies fun again. I would highly recommend it.
Thanks for being a part of my journey!
