I had a good meeting today with the Family Services Director at the Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity. We met together to share ideas and resources with one another and to talk about the challenges of family services programs. I really enjoyed my time. It was good to swap stories and hear how another Habitat for Humanity affiliate is helping to serve families in need.
What amazes me is how many similar experiences we share. I have found this true also when I compare my work now to that in Tennessee. While the names and faces may change, the challenges that our families face seem to be universal. Poverty seems to have a consistent impact upon families lives. They may respond to this impact in a variety of ways, however, they also seem to have similar coping methods.
I am grateful for the meeting I had. I learned some new things and was able to share from my experiences as well. It's great to know that there are others who have the same passion for serving families in need. It also is wonderful know that there are co-workers in the fight to eliminate poverty housing from the face of the earth. I continue to give God thanks for the honor and privilege of this ministry.
Thanks for being a part of my journey!
